History
February 23, 1996 was established FC "Xiamen". The club almost immediately received professional status and the right to act in the system of leagues of China, starting from the third division. Before the start of the 1998 season, the club bought out the club representing the second division, Foshan Fosty, and got him a place in the second division. With the new head coach, who became Chi Shanbin , investors came to the team, and in particular, Lai Changxin . The result was a successful performance in the second division, and according to the results of the 1999 season, "Xiamen" got the right to play in the first division [2] . However, the season turned out to be a failure, since Lai Changxin was implicated in corruption scandals, and the team suffered from it. The football club itself did not take part in scandals, but at the end of the season it was in last place, the entire coaching staff left it, and the team dropped out in the second division. The next few seasons showed that the team was able to maintain a place in the second division, and in 2002 won the championship, but this year there was no promotion in the class, and Xiamen remained in the second division [3] . With the arrival of new head coach Gao Hongbo at the beginning of the 2004 season, the team again demonstrated ambition and won the first league title [4] following the results of the draw. In the Super League, the club became a strong middle peasant, ranking eighth in the season. However, at the end of the season, head coach Gao Hongbo moved to the more ambitious Changchun Yatai club, and the team began to lose. The result was the last place in the table and the loss of a place in the elite division. The team decided to cease to exist at the end of the 2008 season [5] .
