English Skalesia ( Latin: Scalesia pedunculata ) is a species of trees of the genus Scalesia ( Scalesia ) of the Asteraceae family.

Botanical Description
Trees of small and medium size, 3-20 m tall, trunk up to 30 cm thick.
Leaves from ovate to elliptical or lanceolate, gradually pointed, with an oval base, 3-30 cm long, 1-12 cm wide [2] .
The flowers are fragrant, yellow, daisy-like, about 1 cm in diameter, in groups at the ends of twigs.
Distribution and Ecology
Endemic . It grows in the Galapagos Islands : on the islands of San Cristobal, Santiago, Santa Cruz and Floreana, where it forms clean forests or forests mixed with other species of trees and shrubs [2] .
Security
The species is listed in the IUCN Red List with the security status “Are in a vulnerable position” [3] .
