The brothers Karl-Johann , Wilhelm and August Harpe were elevated to the hereditary noble dignity of the Holy Roman Empire by the diploma of the Imperial Vicar Frederick Augustus III , Elector of Saxony 10/02/1790.
- Garpe, Vasily Ivanovich (1762-1814) - Russian commander of the era of the Napoleonic Wars, major general.
The archives hold the Diplomas of Empress Catherine I of Otto-Wilhelm Harpe for the nobility of the Duchy of Estonia (var. 1) and the Duchy of Livonia (var. 2) and the nickname "von Harpe" (by request of 05.20.1726).
