History

The regiment was formed in August 1940 in the Kamenetz-Podolsk (now Khmelnitsky ) region

As part of the army during the Second World War from June 22, 1941 to July 10, 1941 and from September 6, 1941 to January 5, 1942.

On June 22, 1941, it is based in Staro-Kostantinov , incorporating 10 SB aircraft (including 3 malfunctioning). Also, according to some information [1], the Su-2 aircraft were part of the regiment

On the very first day of the war, the airfield of the regiment was raided. [2] The regiment begins military operations, striking at enemy columns, in particular in the area of Przemysl , Krestinopol , Lviv , Rivne . Already on July 1, 1941, he was forced to relocate to the Berdichev area. On July 10, 1941, the regiment was withdrawn from the front line to Boryspil , and from there to Lipetsk . During the battles in Ukraine made 131 sorties.

He received Pe-2 aircraft, in September 1941 became part of the 3rd reserve air group and as part of the group flew to an airfield near Volkhov .

With the beginning of the Tikhvin defensive operation, it flew to the airfield south of Tikhvin and from there in October-November 1941 it strikes at the advancing enemy, and in November-December 1941 - at the retreating during the Tikhvin offensive operation .

On January 5, 1942 he was sent to the reserve, where he was trained and reorganized until the fall, and until October 1942 he was reorganized into the 225th Assault Aviation Regiment .
