The Kenya Wildlife Service , abbreviated KWS , is a government organization that was established in 1990 to conserve and manage Kenya’s wildlife. KWS's objectives include biodiversity conservation in Kenya, problems with climate change, habitat degradation, depletion of forests. KWS is also involved in managing the tourism market, combating poaching, and conflicts between the local population and wildlife caused by population growth and land use change. [one]

Content
National Parks and Reserves
KWS has 65 protected areas: [2] .
- 23 national parks;
- 28 national reserves;
- 4 marine national parks;
- 6 marine national reserves;
- 4 national animal shelters.
Education
KWS has created 5 training and 12 information centers, whose educational programs are aimed at developing an understanding of the animal world, its habitat and the need to preserve it.
