Born on January 7, 1931 at the Vikhlyaevsky farm [1] .
In 1952 he graduated from the Batay Military Aviation School named after A.K. Serov , in 1959 - from the Air Force Academy , in 1972 - from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the USSR named after K. E. Voroshilov .
He served in the Air Force of the Baltic Military District . In 1972-1979 he commanded the air armies (from April 1974 to December 1979 - commander of the 1st Red Banner Air Army in the Far Eastern Federal District), in 1979-1985 - the Air Force of the Kiev Military District .
In 1985-1990 - Chief of the Main Staff of the Air Force - First Deputy Commander- in- Chief of the Air Force of the USSR [2] . In 1992 - the senior group of military specialists in the Republic of India .
Since 1955 he was a member of the CPSU . The delegate of the XXV (1976) and XXVII (1986) congresses of the CPSU and the XIX All-Union Party Conference (1988).
He was elected deputy of the Supreme Council of the Ukrainian SSR of the 10th and 11th convocations (1980-1990).
Died June 5, 1997. He was buried at the Moninsky Military Memorial Cemetery [3] .
