Biography
He was born on February 12, 1940 (according to some reports in 1936 [1] ). From 1958 to 1960 he served in the United States Marine Corps . In 1967, under the influence of LSD, he tried to commit an act of self-immolation, as a result of which he received many burns and subsequently scars. The presence of numerous scars predetermined his further role as an actor - a villain and a negative hero. In 1983, he received the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor in the movie Sword and Sorcerer [2] .
He was able to play musical instruments: saxophone, guitar, piano and flute. He was also fond of fishing, poetry and architecture. In addition to American citizenship, he had Irish, and was a frequent visitor to Ireland.
Lynch had a brother Barry, also an actor, and in addition, Richard played in one film with his wife Lily in one of the films in 1998, and in another film with his son Christopher.
On June 19, 2012, Richard died at his home in Palm Strings, California. The death of the actor, apparently, could have occurred for "natural reasons" [3] .
