On the territory of the botanical garden, mainly spruce and birch forests are located. Currently, 1,100 species of vascular plants grow in the garden, 150 of which are endemic to Alaska.
There is a rock garden with over 350 species of alpine plants.
There is an ecological trail with a length of about 1.8 km.
The growing season in the Anchorage area is about 120 days. The date of the first frost-free day can vary widely - from the end of April to the end of May, and the first autumn frosts can begin on any day from late August to mid-September. A “typical” growing season lasts from mid-May to mid-September.
