Biography

Elena Doronina was born on August 14, 1981 in Moscow , already at the age of ten she began to think about a sports career and entered the children's and youth sports school. In 2004, she decided to try herself in bobsleigh, was selected for the women's national team and joined her as a dispersal. Already in the debut season at the Russian Championships she won a bronze medal in doubles and silver in fours. The following year she won silver at the Cup of Russia. In February 2008, she showed her best result at the World Cup, having arrived fourth at the stage in the German Königssee.

Thanks to a series of successful performances, she was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the Olympic Games in Vancouver , together with the helmsman Anastasia Skulkina, she fought for medals in the classification of double crews, but was only ninth after the results of all the races. Competition in the national team has increased significantly, so soon after these competitions Elena Doronina decided to end the career of a professional athlete, giving way to young Russian overclockers. Represented the sports club of the armed forces of the Russian Federation, CSKA, EShVSM and the city of Moscow. The trainer is the honored trainer of the USSR A. M. Schroders [1] .
