Nikolai Platonovich Putintsev ( January 30, 1930 , the village of Kireevka , Bogorodsky District, Tomsk District , Siberian Territory , the RSFSR , the USSR - July 26, 2011 , Tomsk , Russia ) - a former traffic policeman who became a true legend of Tomsk and is known both in the city and beyond beyond it as "Uncle Kolya."

Biography
Born on the banks of the Ob in the village of Kireevka (now the village of Kireevsk ) in a peasant family.
After graduating from school, he worked as a painter, a carpenter. Work interfered with education; until the end of his life, Uncle Kolya had only five high school classes left.
In 1951 he was called up for military service in the ranks of the Soviet Army. He served 3 years 6 months and 21 days as a shooter in military units in the Far East in the Gulf of Olga . On August 20, 1954 he was transferred to the reserve [1] .
On October 28, 1954 he applied for work in the police and by Order of November 12, 1954 he was appointed a policeman of the police department of the RUD in the city of Tomsk [1] .
He worked for 13 years at the post at the pontoon crossing, and then 23 years at the post at the cinema to them. Gorky at the intersection of Lenin Avenue and Nakhanovich Lane .
There is a legend that “Uncle Kolya” stopped the car of the first secretary of the regional committee Egor Ligachev in the 1980s for speeding. The high party leader not only did not punish the obstinate traffic cop, but even thanked him for his good service [2] [3] [4] .
Dismissed from internal affairs in connection with the retirement on August 29, 1994 [1] .
He died on July 26, 2011 [5] . He was buried in the Tomsk cemetery "Baktin" .

September 17, 2012 in Tomsk , the monument to Putintsev Nikolai Platonovich was unveiled at his post - the corner of Lenin Avenue and Nakhanovich Lane [7] . Funds for the monument were raised, including ordinary citizens. It was possible to collect more than 2.5 million rubles [8] .
