“Production: The World History of the Fight for Oil, Money and Power” ( The Prize: The Epic Quest for Oil, Money, and Power , 1991 ) is a detailed history of the world oil industry from the 1850s to the 1990s, written by Daniel Yergin , a recognized authority in the field of energy, international politics and economics. In 1992, she was awarded the Pulitzer Prize [1] . The book has been translated into 17 languages, including Russian.

About the author
Daniel Yergin is an authority on international politics, economics and energy. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of (IHS CERA), an international consulting company. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize, US Prize "For achievements in the field of energy and strengthening international understanding."
Among other things, Dr. Yergin is a member of the advisory board of the US Department of Energy, chairman of the US Department of Energy’s Energy Strategic Research and Development Special Commission. He is also a member of the advisory board for the Energy Initiative at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Singapore International Energy Advisory Committee.
Yergin is an honorary professor at the Russian Academy of Oil and Gas and a member of the board of directors of the American-Russian Business Council, one of the advisers to the International Gas Union , an energy partner at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum and the World Economic Forum in Davos . He holds a bachelor's degree in humanities from Yale University and a doctorate in Cambridge University [2] .

The period from the 50s of the XIX century until the First World War ( 1914 ): successful attempts to extract “lighting fluid” from the “mountain oil”, the first oil boom in the USA; John Rockefeller , the creation, flowering and dissolution of Standard Oil ; Nobel brothers and the rise of the Russian oil industry ; Royal Dutch and Shell ; unrest in Russia at the beginning of the 20th century and their impact on the industry; Persian oil, Anglo-Persian company ; August 1914 - the beginning of the First World War.
Part II (chapters 9-15). World Wrestling
The period from the First (1914) to the Second World War ( 1939 ): the influence of oil and the internal combustion engine on the nature of hostilities; Galust Gyulbenkyan and Turkish Petroleum Company; oil exploration in Iraq ; car revolution; development of oil exploration technologies; the struggle for new deposits ( Mexico , Venezuela ); Russian oil after the revolution; oil industry and the Great Depression ; the emergence of quotas and control of oil production; Kuwaiti and Saudi concessions .

Screen version
A six-hour documentary series was shot on "Prey", and the famous American actor Donald Sutherland ( English Donald Sutherland ) acted as a narrator. In the United States alone, 20 million people watched this show.
