In a nival climate, there is more solid precipitation than it has time to melt and evaporate, which forms snowfields and glaciers .
History
The concept of nival climate was proposed by the geographer Albrecht Penk , while developing a geomorphological classification of climates.
Distribution
This is the climate of the island of Greenland , the continent of Antarctica and other various glacial alpine regions in the northern latitudes.
