Biography

Born in 1935 in Leningrad .

In 1945-1953 he studied at the legendary school , the former private gymnasium founded in 1856 by Karl May and bearing his name [1] , as well as at the music school at the conservatory.

In 1958 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Film Engineers (department of sound engineers).

Since the early 1960s, he worked at the Gorky Film Studio and its branch in Yalta as a sound engineer and took part in the creation of more than 30 feature films. One of the organizers, co-author of training programs and teacher of the faculty of sound engineering.

He was engaged in journalism. He wrote articles about sound, film scripts, stories, reports from film sets, essays about actors, directors and other film professions. He was published in newspapers and magazines: “The Art of Cinema”, “Soviet Screen”, “New Screen” (Kiev), “Soviet Circus”, “Pravda”, “Evening Moscow”, “Resort Newspaper” (Yalta) and others. I illustrated all publications with my photos.

Together with screenwriters V. Vitkovich , G. Yagdfeld , director B. Rytsarev and artist K. Zagorsky, he wrote a book-film about the shooting of the film “Aladdin's Magic Lamp”, which was published in 1971 by the Young Guard publishing house. Gurin Stanislav Aleksandrovich - author of the children's novel “Vacations” and novels: “Prelude to the Night”, “Abnormal Situation”, “You ordered the murder”, “Frozen dispatches” and “Butterflies in the Moonlight”.

On the story "Vacation" was written and published screenplay in the almanac of "Screenplay" for 1984. Based on the novels: “You ordered a murder” and “Frozen dispatches”, the Pyramid film company shot three 16-episode television films: “Pilot of International Airlines”, “You ordered a murder” and “Frozen dispatches”.

Stanislav Gurin took an active part in photo exhibitions both in our country and abroad. He left a large photo archive, which has yet to see the light. These are photo reports from the filming of the films: “Aladdin's Magic Lamp”; "Neutral waters"; "Townspeople"; "Capablanca" and others. In his photographs are the faces of famous artists of Soviet theaters and cinema (Mikhail Pugovkin, Innokenty Smoktunovsky, Lyubov Orlova, Zoya Fedorova, Georgy Millar and others), film directors (Julius Raizman, Grigory Alexandrov, Sergey Gerasimov, Grigory Kozintsev), screenwriters, composers and many other interesting people (Yuri Gagarin).

S. A. Gurin died on October 20, 2007 [2] .
