Boy with a bicycle

“The Boy with the Bicycle” ( fr. Le gamin au vélo ) is a drama film filmed by Belgian directors Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenin in their own screenplay with Cecile de France and Tom Dore in the lead roles. The film premiered at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival , where the film participated in the main competition and was awarded the Grand Prix .

Content

Story

12-year-old Cyril is in a shelter after his father left him and left in an unknown direction. The boy can not believe that the parent abandoned him, and seeks by all means to find him. However, all in vain. Especially Cyril is upset that Dad sold his favorite bike. During his search, the boy meets the kind woman Samantha, who finds and buys his bicycle, and then decides to take him away from the orphanage for the weekend. However, the process of taming the "young one", which Cyril has turned into, is not going smoothly ...

As in the previous film of the Dardenne brothers “The Silence of Lorna ”, Beethoven ’s music is played in The Boy.
