Sorogozhskoye is a village in the Forest District of the Tver Region . The center of the Sorogozhsky rural settlement , formed in 2006, before that was part of the Motylevsky rural district (the center was the neighboring village of Motyl ).

It is located 12 km south of the regional center of the village of Lesnoye on the highway " Malyshevo - Lesnoye - Pestovo (Novgorod region)."
It is located on the Zaragozh River, a tributary of the Mologa River, from which it received its name.
According to the 2002 census, the population is 297 inhabitants, 130 men, 167 women.

History
According to the data of [2] 1859, the Orthodox Church, 95 residents in 11 courtyards in the village of Sorogozhskoye near the Sorogorzha River. In the second half of the XIX - early XX centuries, the center of the parish of the Lopatinsky volost of the Vesyegonsk district of the Tver province sat down . In 1889 - 25 yards, 112 residents.
Famous People
In the village was born the Hero of the Soviet Union Nikolai Prokofievich Pokrovsky (1944, Medal No. 4048), the commander of a partisan detachment (then brigade) in Belarus.
