Description

According to the world ranking of higher education institutions Webometrics Ranking of World Universities , prepared by the Spanish institute Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas , the university ranks 12th in Poland among technical educational institutions, as well as 2,298 in the world. Technical University "Lublin Polytechnic" - one of the five state educational institutions of Lublin, while the only university of a technical profile. The attractiveness of the university is expressed primarily by its high level of education and modern educational offer. Lublin Polytechnic offers educational programs at the first level of education - bachelor, engineer, master, doctor (postgraduate). Most of the educational specialties of the university where the training is conducted, received a positive assessment of the quality of education of the State Accreditation Commission. Since its inception, the Lublin Polytechnic has been training engineering personnel and conducting research, mainly for the Lublin region. The main areas of scientific research that are currently being conducted at the educational institution are related to the development of structures and technologies, environmental protection, as well as the saving of materials and energy. Lublin Polytechnic carries out examinations and conducts consulting activities. The research results in these areas are numerous scientific publications, as well as patents and protective rights.

History

Lublin Polytechnic was created on May 13, 1953 with the initiative of Lublin technicians and engineers and worked as an evening engineering school. Simultaneously with the creation of the school, its first faculty began to function - mechanical. In 1965, the institution began to be called the Higher Engineering School. In the same year, the faculty of construction was opened, and a year earlier - the faculty of electricity. Big changes in the educational institution were carried out in the 70s. In 1977, the Higher Engineering School was renamed the Lublin Polytechnic. In 1988, the Faculty of Management and Fundamentals of Engineering was created, which on December 28, 2007 was transformed into the Faculty of Management. In 2003, the Faculty of Electricity began to work under the name "Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science." In 2007, the sixth faculty, the foundations of technology, was opened at the Polytechnic University. The Senate of the Lublin University of Technology on July 3, 2003 chose May 13 as the Holiday of the Lublin University of Technology.

Students and employees of the university are offered scientific literature, scripts, textbooks and information publishing houses in the field of technical sciences and related ones, as well as general journals, scientific and professional journals. Collects Polish current technical literature and a large selection of foreign literature. The library has about 150 thousand books, there is a subscription to more than 300 Polish print magazines and 40 foreign publications. Resources are available at your convenience at five faculty libraries and central service points: a library, a technical reading room, and a patent and standardization information center. They are located on the campus of the Lublin University of Technology on ul. Nadbystshytskaya. Since 2009, the digital library of the Lublin University of Technology has been operating, the purpose of which is Internet access to the scientific and educational resources of the university and documents related to its history, as well as the history of science and technology in our region.

Development and Cooperation Bureau

The Development and Cooperation Bureau is engaged in cooperation with partner organizations and the search for partners in order to implement joint activities. This task also includes cooperation with entrepreneurs in the implementation of common projects, as well as the Polytechnic's offer for business.

Computing Center

The main task of the Center is the creation, maintenance and development of computer systems that support the management of a higher educational institution. The center also develops materials and documentation, conducts training in the field of those computer systems that it develops. The Computing Center coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software in all organizational units of the university.

Center for Innovation and Advanced Technology

The center was created to strengthen and optimize the activities of the Lublin Polytechnic in such sectors as the popularization of new technologies, the popularization and implementation of scientific results, as well as more efficient use of the intellectual and technical potential of the university.

Lublin Entrepreneurship Incubator

The main task of the activities that the Incubator is engaged in is supporting and popularizing the idea of ​​entrepreneurship among students, awakening the entrepreneurial spirit among young people and helping beginner businessmen. One of the priorities of the Incubator's activity is to attract funds from an external source, for example, the European Social Fund, which will help in preparing our students, graduates and young researchers to start their own business and effectively implement their business ideas.

Lublin Technology Transfer Center

The center carries out its mission in such actions: search and commercialization of research results; popularization of innovative business events and technologies; development of technological cooperation of the Lublin Voivodeship, in particular with the states of the European Union; supporting the development of innovative enterprises; special education and training; cooperation with local authorities, government agencies and commercial organizations.

Campus

On campus between st. There are 14 didactic buildings of the university, some of which are historical buildings, located in the Nadbystshitskaya and Bystshitsy river valleys (south of the center of Lublin). Next to the Polytechnic there are many food outlets, a transport network, 4 student dormitories, several clubs and a sports complex.
