This species is widely distributed, found on land and along streams in Venezuela in the states of Aragua , Vargas , Carabobo , Miranda , Yarakui and the Federal District of Venezuela at an altitude of 30 to 1610 meters above sea level. Eggs are laid on land. The male protects the clutch, and then transfers the tadpoles into the water.
