Biography
He joined the RSDLP in 1906. He was arrested, since 1914 he was exiled to Siberia . After the February Revolution he was able to return to European Russia . In August 1917 he was elected Chairman of the Central Council of Factory Committees of the city of Kiev . Then - a member of the executive committee of the Kiev Council . At the end of 1918 he was sent to the underground Bolshevik work in Odessa, where he became Chairman of the Odessa Regional Committee of the Bolsheviks and one of the leaders of the Foreign Collegium . At the beginning of 1919 he was elected to the All-Russian Central Executive Committee. The Odessa counterintelligence branch of the FYUR managed to reach the trail of the Bolshevik underground in the city and defeat it.

The second was arrested by a Bolshevik leader, known under the nickname Count de Lafer . He appeared on the Odessa horizon relatively recently. The funds at the disposal of the arrested person were quite substantial. Count Lafer was detained after careful surveillance of him.

He was shot by Denikin’s counterintelligence on the night of April 1 to 2, 1919, on a barge No. 4, which stood in the Odessa port , and the corpse was drowned.
In mid-April 1919, after the Red Army captured Odessa on April 6, 1919, the corpse of Lastochkin and other dead on a barge was picked up and identified. He was reburied in the Mariinsky Park in Kiev (the grave was not preserved).

- In Soviet times , Lanzheronovskaya Street in Odessa bore the name of Lastochkin. Until 2015, there was Smirnova-Lastochkina Street in Kiev .
- Lastochkin is the prototype of the main character of the 1932 play by Odessa Lev Slavin “ Intervention (play) ” by Bolshevik Michel Voronov ( Raven = Swallow ). Roles were performed by different actors. In the film adaptation of 1968 " Intervention " the role was played by Vladimir Semenovich Vysotsky .
- Lastochkin is a character in the 1965 film Squadron Goes West directed by Miron Bilinsky and Nikolai Vingranovsky . The role was played by Adolf Shestakov .
