Argyrea ( Latin: Argyreia ) is a genus of perennial flowering plants included in the tribe Ipomoeeae of the Convolvulaceae family .

Title
The name Argyreia comes from other Greek. άργυρος - "silver", which refers to the silver color of the edges of the leaves of some species of this genus.
Botanical Description
Representatives of the genus are perennial creepers and herbaceous plants . Leaves are smooth or pubescent, of various shapes, with a smooth edge, located on the petioles.
Inflorescences are umbellate or loose capitate, located on the tops of shoots, contain few or quite a lot of flowers . Bracts fall quickly or do not fall at all. The calyx consists of five leathery or soft reddish, pubescent sepals externally. The corolla is five-petalled, tubular, bell-shaped or funnel-shaped, red, white or pink. Stamens are filiform. The pestle is also filiform, with a dicotyledon stigma. The ovary is divided into two or four branches.
The fruit is a spherical or elliptical berry , dyed to various shades of red and yellow, usually with 4 seeds .
Range
Argirea species grow in Asia ; one species is known in Australia .
