Minitab

Minitab is a software package for processing statistical data. It was developed at the University of Pennsylvania by scientists Barbara Ryan, Thomas Ryan Jr. and Brian Jorner in 1972. Minitab appeared as a lite version of OMNITAB, a statistical analysis program developed at the National Institute of Standards and Technology .

Minitab is distributed by Minitab Inc, a privately held company headquartered in State College, PA, with branches in Coventry , England (Minitab Ltd), Paris (Minitab SARL) and Sydney (Minitab Pty).

Today, Minitab is often used in conjunction with Six Sigma , CMMI, and other statistical methods based on developmental methods.

The latest Minitab 18 software is available in 7 languages: English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Spanish.

Minitab Inc. produces two other software products that complement Minitab 18. ^[1] Quality Trainer is an e-learning package that helps you learn statistical tools and concepts in the context of quality improvement, which integrates with Minitab 18 and at the same time develops statistical knowledge of the user and the ability to use Minitab software . Quality Companion 3 is an integrated Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing project management tool that allows Minitab data to be combined with project management , management tools and documents.
