Tampa Bay Mutiny , a discontinued American football club in Tampa , Florida , played in MLS , the strongest league in the United States, during its existence. In 1996, in the first MLS Championship draw, Tampa Bay Mutini won the regular season, this success was the first and last significant achievement in the club’s short history. In 1999, the club relocated from the Tampa Stadium arena to the new Raymond James Stadium , which had a significantly higher rental price. Due to the increased costs, the club was forced to sell the leading players, the attendance of the team fell, the club became unprofitable, as a result of which it ceased to exist in 2001.
