State Historical and Architectural Reserve "Ancient Kiev"

In 1987, by a resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR, the State Historical and Architectural Reserve "Ancient Kiev" was created on the territory of Ancient Podil and the neighboring part of Starokievskaya Mountain. ^[1] The boundaries of the reserve were determined based on the results of scientific research. By the decision of the Kiev Executive Committee in 1988, they were documented.

Since 1998, the reserve has been operating as part of the Kiev Scientific and Methodological Center for the Protection, Restoration and Use of Monuments of History, Culture and Protected Areas.

By a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in 2001, all the objects of the reserve were included in the register of monuments of national importance.

The reserve covers an area of ​​175 hectares, which contains 74 architectural monuments, 15 - of history, 22 - of archeology, 2 - of monumental art.
