The 25th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee was held from December 11 to December 16, 2001 , in Helsinki , Finland . 31 properties were submitted to the UNESCO World Heritage List: 25 cultural and 6 natural heritage sites. Thus, the total number of registrations reached 721 (553 cultural heritage, 23 mixed and 145 natural heritage).
