
Punch - pulsed reciprocating (rarely rotational), with a rectilinear or curved path, directed movement of the hand with a palm clenched in a fist so that the heads of the metacarpal bones form a shock surface. The purpose of movement is the task of physical harm, or to achieve a change in the physical state of an object or subject. Punching is inherent in almost all martial arts, which use the shock technique of the hands.
Types of punching
In the direction of movement, punches are divided into:
- direct (frontal) blows
- jab cross
- side (flank) attacks
- hook, swing, overhand
- upward strokes
- uppercut
According to the dynamics of execution, punches are divided into:
- kicks from the spot
- reversal shots
- strikes in step
- jumps
- jumps
In addition, the strike can be single, double (a short series of two strokes performed one after another) or repeated (a strike that is performed at the same target twice or more times in a row) strokes can be combined into a series or combination. Also, a strike can be accented (a strike that stands out in terms of strength, sharpness and accuracy), false or deceptive (a strike that is performed in a false direction in order to disorient an opponent) can be performed towards or ahead of the curve.
