Ivanovsky Music Theater is a musical theater in the city of Ivanovo . One of the first theaters of musical comedy created in the RSFSR . Founded in 1934 .

Content
History
In the late 1920s, a group of amateur artists was known and was popular in Ivanovo and its environs. It was a small troupe , consisting mainly of operetta artists, who traveled around the neighboring cities and villages.
In 1931, the troupe was referred to as the “Mobile Ivanovo-Voznesensky Theater of Musical Comedy” and was already known in Vladimir , Yaroslavl , Kostroma and Vologda .
Taking into account the wishes of the workers , the decision to create a stationary musical theater in the region was made by the Ivanovo Oblast Executive Committee on December 22, 1934.
This date is considered to be the birthday of the theater. The team was allocated its own building on the street of the Red Army. Artistic director appointed V. Lensky [2] .
After minor repairs, on March 3, 1935, the theater opened its first theater season with the production of "Harry Domella" (music by A. Ashkenazi, production and libretto by V. Lensky). In the same year, the viewer saw the premiere of the theater: The Seller of Birds by Karl Zeller , The Merry Widow and The Blue Mazurka by Franz Lehar .
Before the war, the troupe toured extensively , in the repertoire of classical operas and operettas of Soviet and foreign composers. In the spring of 1941, the theater leaves for Almaty , where the artists celebrated the beginning of the Great Patriotic War .
Until 1942, in Alma-Ata, theater artists participated in patriotic concerts and events, actively raising funds for the needs of the front.
In October 1942 the team returned to Ivanovo. Several front-line brigades are being formed , in the repertoire of which there are military-patriotic performances: “Muscovite”, “The Sea Spread Widely”, with which the actors performed before the Red Army on the front line, gave concerts in hospitals .
During the first decade of the Ivanovo Theater of Musical and Musical Comedy, more than 50 performances were staged.
In the season of 1947-1948, the theater was the first in the Soviet Union to put the operetta of Isaac Osipovich Dunaevsky "Free wind". The first performer of the role of Stella was Lyudmila Georgievna Adamantova, who received the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR in 1950. The first performer of the role of Pepita is Lyubov Vysotskaya.
In the 1950s-1960s, young talented actors, now Honored Artist of the Russian Federation V. Birillo, People's Artist V. Kelin, Honored Artists: S. Artyushkevich, V. Cannabih come to the theater.
December 25, 1986 [3] "Ivanovo Theater of Musical Comedy" was renamed to "Ivanovo Regional Musical Theater" [4] . In 1987, he moved to the building of the Palace of Arts on Pushkin Square .
It should be remembered talented artists: V. Pimenov, M. Koltsova, T. Drachuk, V. Kocherzhinsky, B. Bednyak, ballet dancers from honored artists of Russia L. Lakomskaya and V. Serov. In the same years, the future Soviet and Russian director Piotr SosedovV [5] [6] works as a choir artist in the theater.
Under the direction of the chief director Yu. Gvozdikov, the theater produces the performances “Tobacco Captain”, “I came to give you free rein”, a children's musical tale “Golden Chicken”.
It is worth noting the operetta "The Tobacco Captain " with Vladimir Kocherzhinsky in the role of Peter the Great . At the end of 1986, in Alma-Ata , summer (1987) touring was not calm , in the then capital of Kazakhstan they opened with this very production, which was noted by the audience.
From 1992 to 1994, the theater worked: The main director - V. Kuchin, conductors - directors G. Streletsky and V. Shadrin. They put two classic operettas “The Corneville Bells ” by Robert Planket and “Night in Venice” by I. Strauss .
In 1998, the theater takes part in the Golden Mask festival with the performance of Hanum (libretto by B. Racer and V. Konstantinov, music by G. Kancheli ) [7] .
Over the years, the theater collaborated known in the art and Russian artists and theater: the Diamond Lyudmila G. Vysotsky Lyubov Semenovna, Kogan, Yuri Aleksandrovich Adamov Konstantin Maksimovich, Alsky Ada Alexandrovna, May Emmanuel Isaakovich, Matveev Matthew Aronovich, Savelyev Hermann Mikhailovich Serov, Valery Borisovich, Usoltsev Vasily Mikhailovich [8] .
For many years the People’s Artist of Russia - Kelin, Vladimir Fyodorovich served in the theater, remembered to the audience as a brilliant performer of roles: Ded Zahara (“Babi Riot”), Chudik Gleb Kozulin (“Sweet Berry”), Federico (“ Hay Dog ”) and Aristrida Giraud (" Frascita ").
