Linz (football club)

“Linz” ( German: FC Linz ) - ceased to exist the Austrian football club from the city of the same name. The club was founded on June 30, 1946, under the name "SV Aisen und Stahl 1946 Linz", it had its last name since 1993. He played at home at the Linzer Stadium, which seats 18,000 spectators. The club made its debut in the Austrian Bundesliga in 1969, after winning the regional league. Linz achieved his greatest achievement in the 1973/74 season when he became the Austrian champion. In 1988, Linz first flew out of the Bundesliga, but returned to it in 1991 and played there until its disbandment. In 1997, due to serious financial problems, the club was forced to join the LASK club in its eternal rival. In the same year, the Club was formed, which positions itself as the successor to the original Linz.
