Career

The first club of David Dearne, a native of a small town in the Canadian province of Quebec , was the Chicutimi Sagenins, performing at QMJHL . For 4 seasons, the young striker, who completed his career as a team captain , scored 374 points in 262 games using the goal + pass system and was awarded Frank J. Selka Memorial Prize three times [2] (Award similar to Lady Bing Trophy in the NHL). Nevertheless, despite all the successes at the junior level, David Dearne was not drafted by any NHL team.

The first team to pay attention to the young striker was the Montreal Canadiens , who in 2007 invited Dearne to his summer training camp. Then the Canadian club did not offer the player a contract and David Dearne joined the Cincinnati Cyclons club ”To the ECHL . The 2007–08 season turned out to be the most successful for the American team (Cincinnati won the ECHL championship for the first time in its history) and for its forward: David Dearne, who scored 106 points for the season (and 33 more in the playoff games), He was recognized not only the rookie of the year, but also the most valuable player in the league. At the end of the season at ECHL, Montreal Canadiens entered into a two-year bilateral contract with Dearne. In 2009, the forward made his debut in the NHL; in 2011, the club extended the agreement with Dearne for another 2 years [3] . The most successful for Dearne in the NHL was the 2011/12 season, when he scored 60 points (16 + 44) in 81 matches.

On February 28, 2017, he was traded at Edmonton Oilers for 26-year-old quarterback Brandon Davidson. In 18 matches of the regular season he scored 4 points (2 + 2) for the Oilers. In the playoffs in 13 matches, scored 4 points (1 + 3)

July 4, 2017 signed a one-year contract with the New York Rangers . In 71 matches of the regular season, he scored 28 points (6 + 22). The Rangers did not reach the playoffs in the 2017/18 season.

In total, the NHL held 524 matches in the regular championships, in which it scored 282 points (87 + 195).

July 2, 2018 Dearne signed a one-year contract with the Yaroslavl “Locomotive” , performing in the KHL [4] . Soon, by mutual agreement, the contract was terminated. Dearne did not play a single match for Lokomotiv in the KHL.

Before the 2018/19 season, he signed a one-year contract with another KHL club - Vanguard. On September 2, 2018, he made his debut for Avangard in a guest match with Lokomotiv and scored one point for an assist (Avangard won 4-0). In 11 matches of September 2018 he was marked by 4 assists, but did not score a single goal. In a match with Magnitogorsk Metallurg on September 13, 2018, he received a match penalty, because of which he was disqualified for one game and subjected to a monetary fine [5] .

Already in the first games for “Vanguard” he proved himself to be a master of face-offs: on September 24, in the game against Amur he won 17 of 20 face-offs (85%), on October 2 against “Vityaz” he won 15 of 18 face-offs (83%), on October 11 against “ Slovana ”won 17 of 19 face-offs (89%).

On October 9, 2018, in a guest match with Salavat Yulaev, in his 15th game for Avangard, he scored the first goal, having made five record-breaking shots for himself, he also scored with an assist for Maxim Chudinov, but Avangard lost 2: 3, throwing an opponent away with a record high of 64-11. October 14 threw the puck in a winning match against Barys in Balashikha (5: 3).

On April 26, 2019, with his Vanguard teammate Viktor Stolberg , he entered into two-year agreements with the Swiss club Friborg-Gotteron [6] .
