History

The first section of the line from Tamagawa Station to Kanagawa Station was opened on February 14, 1926. Throughout, from the Shibuya station to the Sakuragito station, the line began operating on March 31, 1932. On August 29, 1964, an end-to-end communication was opened with the Khibiya line through the Naka-Maguro station .

On December 30, 2004, a section of the line from Yokohama Station to Sakuragito Station was closed, and on February 1 of the same year, a through connection was opened with the Minatomirai Line from Yokohama Station.

In 2013, it is expected that the construction of an underground branch with a length of 1.4 km from the Daikanyama station to the terminal of the Fukutosin line at the Shibuya station is expected, which will allow the start of end-to-end communication between the two lines [1] [2] .
