Geography
It is located on the Trans-Siberian Railway ( Angasolka station, VSZhD ) on the left bank of the Right Angasolka River in the southern part of the Olkhinsky Plateau , 2 km east of the P258 Baikal federal highway, 6 km northwest of the village of Angasolskaya , located on the shore of Lake Baikal . The name Angasolka comes from the Boers. ongoso - “boat, ship”.
History
At the end of the 1940s, during the construction of the new Irkutsk - Slyudyanka railway line by the party of Mostransproekt, which was engaged in the search for stone material for crushed stone, the outcrops near the road on the left bank of the Right Angasolka River were examined. Based on these works, production was built, after several extensions the Angasolsky crushed stone plant was formed. The continuous exploitation of the Angasolsky deposit of granites and pegmatites has been carried out since 1957. In 1949, the Angasolka railway station was commissioned.
In 1960, near the Angasolsk crushed stone plant and the Angasolka station on the Trans-Siberian Railway, a substation village called Angasolka was built [2] .
Since July 2008, the Angasolsky crushed stone plant has been a branch of OJSC First Nonmetallic Company , established on the basis of Russian Railways [3] .
