Salim Ghazi Saidi ( 1981 ; Iran , Tehran ) is an Iranian composer and guitarist working in various genres: from Progressive metal [1] and synthesis jazz [2] , to avant-garde classical chamber rock [3] and progressive electronic rock [3] and Rock in Opposition [4] [5] [6] . However, in some critical articles, the direction in which he works is called art rock and his music is considered minimalist [7] .

Biography
Salim Ghazi Saidi was born in 1981 in the city of Tehran, Iran. Since 1999, he independently began to learn to play the guitar and began to compose music. As part of the Arashk group, he composed 3 albums: “Abrahadabra” (2006), “Sovereign” (2007) and “Ustuqus-al-Uss” (2008). In 2010, he released his fourth, already solo album, Iconophobic, in which he played the role of composer, guitarist, keyboard player, drum arranger, mix engineer and producer. In 2011, he published Human Encounter.
Some critics have compared it to Univers Zero , Art Zoyd [8] , John Zorn , Patrick O'Hearn, Mike Oldfield , Sufjan Stevens and The Enid [9] , Djam Karet and Birdsongs of the Mesozoic [10] , David Bedford, Richard Pinhas, ZNR, Mecano [3] , Present, Aranis, Anne Dudley and Jaz Coleman [11] and with the entire Belgian chamber rock scene [12] . Harmonie magazine compared his guitar playing to Robert Fripp of King Crimson . [13] .
His albums are conceptual albums combining elements of classical, electronic music and progressive rock , with a diverse use of instruments. He characterizes himself as an “eternal improviser ... both in performing and in composing music”. [14]

Impact
He was most influenced by Jeff Beck and Thelonius Monk . Salim speaks of his style of music as follows: “I never thought of composing in a progressive genre. I just like to listen to very different music ... That's where the progressive genre probably comes from. You free your thoughts and they become progressive! ” [14]
