Apsky district ( Latvian. Apes rajons ) is a former administrative district of the Latvian SSR .
It was created on December 31, 1949 by a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Latvian SSR for the creation of districts. Tsesvaynsky district was formed by combining the territories of the former Aluksne county, the city of Ape , Dures parish , Gaujien parish , Ilsen parish , Jaunleicen parish , Jaunroz village council , Karvas parish and Wetzlaicen parish. The center of the district is the city of Ape . From 1952 to 1953, the Apsky district was part of the Riga region . On July 19, 1951, the village council of Kaktinu was liquidated. On June 14, 1954, the village councils of Chonkas, Druscu, Hrubes, Jaunroze, Melnupes, Mežu, Vidaga and Karva were liquidated.
On March 30, 1956, the Apsky district was liquidated, the territory of the district was included in the Aluksnensky and Smiltene districts. At the time of liquidation, the Apsky district included 1 city and 17 village councils.
