Aloy district

The territory of the Aloi district (1950)

Alojsky district ( Latvian. Alojas rajons ) is a former administrative district of the Latvian SSR with a center in the city of Aloja , which existed in 1949-1956.

The Aloisk district was created on December 31, 1949 from a part of the liquidated Limbaz county (the cities of Ainaži and Salacgriva , a part of the Ainazh , Aloisk , Braslav , Ozol , Palesk volosts and the territory of the volosts of Puikule, Staitselskaya , Salack, Svettsiemsky and Vilzen. From 1952 to 1953, the Aloysky district included in the Riga region .

Aloisk district was liquidated on December 7, 1956 by joining the Limbaži district . At the time of liquidation, the Aloisky district included 2 cities and 21 village councils.
