Economics
Montoglio is often called the “book village” - there are dozens of bookstores located here, and book fairs are held every third Sunday of the month. Montoglio also has the Cactuseraie d'Escaïre-Figue Botanical Garden, specializing in cacti.
In 2007, out of 387 people of working age (15–64 years), 265 were economically active , 122 inactive (the activity indicator was 68.5%, in 1999 it was 69.0%). Of the 265 active, 244 people worked (120 men and 124 women), 21 were unemployed (8 men and 13 women). Among 122 inactive 25 people were pupils or students, 60 - pensioners, 37 were inactive for other reasons [1] .
