Location
The Lower Dzhilindinsky depression is located on the right bank of the Vitim River at the confluence of the Lower Geelinda River . From the north, the depression is bounded by the slopes of the spur of the South Muya Range , and from the south by the slopes of the Nizhnekalar Range . The hollow has a wide (up to 17 km) vacancy base, and upstream of Lower Dzhilindy narrows to 2-3 km. In general, the depression has a northeast strike; its length is 28 km.
Geology and Landscape
The Nizhadzhilindinsky depression is composed of Cenozoic continental sediments of minor thickness. The main formation of the depression went into Neogene - Quaternary time and is actively continuing at present. The bottom of the depression is located in the altitude range of 550–600 m, sometimes swamped . There are lakes . The prevailing landscape types are taiga with Mari and Yerniki and riverine meadows .
