It is located 11 km south-west of the volcano Ichinskaya Sopka. This volcano is a slag cone surrounded by lava flows.

The absolute height is 1679 m. Products poured out of Northern Cherpuk are basalts and andesitobasalts . The volume of erupted material is 2.5 km³.

The activity of the volcano belongs to the Holocene .
