The No WTO Combo is an American supergroup from Seattle , Washington , formed by Krist Novoselic in 1999 and lasting only about a week. The band’s first concert was supposed to take place on November 30 at the Seattle club Showbox, the night before the World Trade Organization Ministerial Conference, but the concert was canceled due to the club being in the curfew zone set by the police, so the concert moved to the next day. The performance was one of Kim Tyil ’s first concerts after Soundgarden’s breakup, and Jello Biafra’s second appearance as a vocalist [K 1] since the breakup of Dead Kennedys in 1986 . Later, Novoselic asked Jack Andino to mix a recording of the performance, which was released on May 16, 2000 via Alternative Tentacles' Biafra label Live from the Battle in Seattle .
