Biography
Born on August 24, 1948. In 1972 he graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs .
- In 1972-1983 - Worked in the embassies of the USSR in Cameroon and the United States .
- In 1983-1989. - Second Secretary, First Secretary, Advisor, Head of Sector of the USA and Canada Department of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- In 1989-1990 - Head of Department, Deputy Head of the Office of the United States and Canada, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR.
- In 1990-1996 - Counselor of the Embassy of the USSR, then Russia in Canada.
- In 1996-1997 - Deputy Director of the Department of North America, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
- In 1997-1998 - Director of the North American Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry .
- October 30, 1998 — October 17, 2001 - State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation [1] [2] .
- October 5, 1999 — January 8, 2002 - Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation on the Middle East settlement [3] .
- November 1999-2000 - Representative of the Russian Federation on the UNESCO Executive Council. Repeatedly led the Russian delegation at the sessions of the UNESCO Executive Board, negotiations on a Middle East settlement.
Died suddenly on January 8, 2002 in Moscow [4] .

He was married (spouse: Olga Valentinovna Sredina (born on 11/15/1951). He has a son (Dmitry), a daughter (Elena), three granddaughters (Anastasia, Maria, Stephania) and three grandchildren (Vasily, Artur, Bogdan).
