History
ET 3 (1988 - 2015)
Launched on December 14, 1988 under the name ET3. On June 11, 2013, the Council of Ministers of the Hellenic Republic decided to disband the ERT; ET3 broadcasting via satellite television, IPTV and digital television was discontinued in most regions. Employees of the channel continued to informally transfer ET3 via the Internet and through digital television to parts of the regions as part of the ERT Open movement, protesting against the closure of public television and the production of citizen journalism.
EPT 3 (since 2015)
On June 11, 2015, it resumed broadcasting via satellite television, IPTV and digital television in most regions under the name EPT 3.
ERT 3 Thessaloniki
The EPT 3 Thessaloniki General Directorate ( Γενική Διεύθυνση ΕΡΤ3 - Θεσσαλονίκη ) is a unit within the EPT that is not included in any of the other two main general directorates, includes the Program Directorate ( Διεύθυνση ( ρογρά , two departments - for two radio stations) and the News and Information Service ( Υποδιεύθυνση ειδήσεων και ενημέρωσης ). EPT3 broadcasts television from Thessaloniki and is a Greek television channel with the largest regional network. Separate regional studios operate in the cities of Florina, Komotini, Alexandroupolis and on the islands of Paros, Lesbos and Samos. At the present stage, the channel has partnerships with channels in the Balkans and in Russia for the mutual exchange of programs.
