Vyacheslav Alekseevich Salikov ( 1948 - 2008 ) - economic activist, aircraft engineer, doctor of technical sciences (2000), professor (2000), laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation (2000), laureate of the Golden Fund of HE award (2001). Honorary Citizen of Voronezh (2008; posthumous).

Biography
Vyacheslav Alekseevich was born in a family of employees.
In 1963 he entered the Voronezh Aviation College. V.P. Chkalov. After graduating from technical school from 1967 to 1968 he worked as a fitter-assembler of aircraft at the Voronezh Aviation Plant .
From 1968 to 1971 he served in the Navy of the USSR. Returning to the enterprise, on the job in 1978 he graduated from the Voronezh Polytechnic Institute . From 1984 to 1986 he was the secretary of the party committee of the plant. From 1986 to 1998 he worked as chief engineer.
In June 1998, the Board of Directors of VASO OJSC appointed the Director General of the Voronezh Aircraft-Building Enterprise. On October 3, 2005, Salikov was appointed Deputy General Director for Production of Ilyushin Finance OJSC.
With the direct participation of V. A. Salikov, the An-12 , Tu-128 , and Tu-144 aircraft were built. In 1980, he led the assembly production of IL-86 wide-body aircraft. Under his leadership assembly shop became the foremost in the factory as soon as possible. Later, Salikov, as an experienced specialist and leader, became the production manager of the most important units for the Tu-160 strategic bombers. Becoming in 1986 the chief engineer of the plant Salikov led the development of the production of IL-96 aircraft. Under his leadership, a lot of work was done, which culminated in obtaining a certificate and a certificate of approval of the production of IL-96-300 at VASO. In 2000, Salikov was awarded the title of Laureate of the State Prize in the field of science and technology for the creation of the long-distance main passenger aircraft Il-96-300 with PS-90A engines.
Since 1999, Salikov headed the Department of Aircraft Engineering at the Voronezh State Polytechnic University, defended his doctoral dissertation in 2000, was a professor, academician of the MIA. Recently, Salikov headed the Directorate for the project of a new regional aircraft An-148 .
The life of V. A. Salikov tragically ended on July 17, 2008, 1.5 months before the 60th anniversary. In the morning, on his way to work, he died in a car accident along with his wife Lyudmila Vasilyevna. He was buried at the Comintern cemetery in Voronezh.

- On September 8, 2008, he was posthumously awarded the title “Honorary Citizen of the City of Voronezh”.
- On July 15, 2009, a memorial plaque to Vyacheslav Alekseevich Salikov was solemnly opened at the VASO OJSC plant management building.
