Arie Ben-Eliezer ( Hebrew אריה בן-אליעזר ; nee Lipa Yudelevich Zabrovsky ; December 16, 1913 , Vilno , Russian Empire - January 29, 1970 ) - Israeli politician, deputy of the Knesset of the first seven convocations, Zionist-revisionist .

Born December 16, 1913 in the city of Vilno , Russian Empire (now Lithuania ). Parents Yudel Zabrovsky and Mikhlya Shkupon (from the town of Zholudok, Lida district, Vilna province ) were planning to leave for the USA , but then repatriated to Palestine in 1920 . The family had ten children, Lipa was the youngest [1] .

Despite the fact that all the older brothers were members of the Haganah , Arye, a thirteen-year-old teenager, entered the Beitar , participated in the defense of Tel Aviv during the Arab riots of 1929 and 1936 [2] . In 1933, he was arrested and imprisoned for five weeks on suspicion of involvement in the activities of the Brit Habyronim organization.

After the outbreak of World War II, Irgun sent Ben-Eliezer to the United States , where he, together with Hillel Cook , Ari Jabotinsky , Shmuel Merlin and Yitzhak Ben-Ami, created the "Committee for the Salvation of Jews of Europe" and the "People's Liberation Committee."

In 1943, he returned to Palestine on the “Committee for the Salvation of the Jews of Europe”, met with Menachem Begin, and received an offer to join the Irgun leadership, to which Arye Ben-Eliezer agreed. A year after arriving in the country, Ben-Eliezer was arrested by the British, along with another 251 people, he was exiled to Asmara ( Eritrea ). Represented the interests of prisoners in front of the British troops. In January 1947, together with several Jews, he fled from exile, arrived in France in May of that year.

After independence, Israel returned to the country. He became one of the founders of the Herut movement, was elected from him to the Knesset of the 1st convocation , got seats in the financial commission and economic commission . He was re-elected to the Knesset of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th convocations. During the cadet’s cadet of the 2nd convocation he received the post of deputy chairman of the Knesset , who remained until the end of his stay in the Knesset.

In the Knesset of the 2nd, 4th and 5th convocations he worked in the Foreign Affairs and Security Commission . In the Knesset of the 6th convocation, he worked in the labor commission .

He died on January 29, 1970 , in the Knesset he was replaced by Gideon Pat [3] .

The name Arije Ben-Eliezer named the Israeli settlement on the West Bank of the Beit Aryeh River . A street in Ramat Gan is named after him.
