History
It was founded in Muskogee as a Presbyterian school for girls . In 1894, the school became a college, known as Henry Kendall College . [1] In 1907, the college was moved to Tulsa. This happened just two months before Oklahoma became a state. In 1920, as a result of the merger of Henry Kendall College with the McFarlin College founded two years earlier, the University of Tulsa was formed.

In the 2012 US News & World Report ranking, Tulsa University ranked 75th among American universities. [2]
