Biography

Orthodox. From the nobles . The son of Lieutenant Colonel Valerian Alekseevich Apukhtin and Varvara Nikolaevna Zalesova. Grandson of the General-from-Infantry N. G. Zalesov .

At the end of the Page Corps in 1902, he was released from the pages in the cornet of the Life Guards of Her Majesty's Ulan Regiment .

Ranks: lieutenant (10.8.1906), staff captain (1910), captain , colonel (1915), Major General KIAF (1928), Lieutenant General KIAF (1929).

He participated in the Russian-Japanese war in the ranks of the 2nd Verkhneudinsky Cossack Regiment , for military distinctions he was awarded six orders, including the Order of St. Anne 4th degree with the inscription "for courage."

In 1911 he graduated from the Nikolaev Military Academy in the 1st category. At the end of the academy, he was seconded to the Officer Cavalry School . On October 1, 1912, he was assigned to the Ulan Regiment for 2 years to command the squadron, with which he entered the First World War . He participated in a campaign in East Prussia . By the highest order of November 11, 1914, Captain Apukhtin was granted the St. George's Arms

On June 11, 1917 he was appointed commander of the 17th Lancers of the Novomirgorod Regiment . Later he was at the headquarters of the Guards detachment .

In the Civil War he participated in the White Movement as part of the All-Union Socialist League . In August 1919, he was underground in Odessa , then was the chief of staff of the city garrison and the airborne squad that occupied the city . In October - November 1919 he commanded the 2nd Taman Cossack Regiment , then - the Consolidated Horse Brigade (1919) and the Separate Boyar Group of Forces. Consisted of the chief of staff: detachment of General Ossovsky , 5th Infantry Division and the Separate Cavalry Division. Participated in the Breda campaign . In 1920, he commanded the Reserve Cavalry Regiment before the evacuation of Crimea . In Gallipoli - the commander of the Reserve Cavalry Division.

In exile in Yugoslavia , where he served in the border guard. In 1924 he joined KIAF , in 1929 he was appointed head of KIAF affairs. He was a representative of the regimental association in Yugoslavia. During the Second World War he was a representative of the Russian Corps in Yugoslavia. He died in 1945 in Yugoslavia.

He was married to Lilia Alexandrovna Apukhtina. Their children:
