Biography
In 673, after the death of King Domangart II , Maelduin and his brother Domnall II became rulers of Dal Riad. Their rival was Ferhar II of the Kenel Loarn clan . The Scottish Song calls Maelduin and Domnall the kings of Dal Riad and co-rulers. The Annals of Ulster mention the years of their death, but do not name the titles. Perhaps the brothers were the leaders of Kenel Gabran and owned only land in Kintyre .
In 689, Maelduin died and Domnall II became the sole ruler of Kintyre. In 696, Domnall died. Ferkhar II became his prime minister on the throne of Dal Riad.
