Olubenets are a tundra tribal group of Yukagirs along the lower reaches of the Indigirka . The etymology of the ethnonym is not clear. At the time of contact with the Russian pioneers, the tribe was led by the princes, the brothers Morlaix and Burulga. Extinct as a result of smallpox epidemics in the second half of the 17th century.
