In the district are the executive and legislative authorities of Kursk and Kursk region . History

By a decree of the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee on May 20, 1936, three districts were established within the city of Kursk: Leninsky, Dzerzhinsky and Kirovsky [2] .

From 1960 to 1962 the administrative division of the city of Kursk into districts did not exist [3] . On June 30, 1962, the boundaries were established between the districts of the city, existing today [4] .

By a decree of the head of the administration of the city of Kursk on February 4, 1994 "On the reorganization of the general management scheme of the city of Kursk", the Leninsky district was transformed into the Central District [5] .

County Borders

The central district covers an area of ​​85 km², includes 390 streets, lanes, avenues, 8 squares, 16 squares [6] . The border of the Central District with Zheleznodorozhny passes along the Tuskar River to Malinovaya Street, with the Seimskiy District — along Malinova Street, to the Glinische log to the southern border of the KGCA agricultural school, along this border to the Kursk- Mokva road, and then along it to the west to cross it with the border of the city. The odd side of Malinovaya Street, as well as part of Engels Street (No. 2-5 and 1-113а) [3], is fully related to the Central District.

Social Structure

In the Central District there are twelve municipal health care institutions, 30 municipal educational institutions, 29 pre-school educational institutions, four children's and youth sports schools, four children's and youth centers, the Palace of Pioneers and Schoolchildren, the Rhythm House of Arts [2] .

Industry

Over 6800 enterprises and organizations are registered on the territory of the district, which employ 98.5 thousand people.

Education

The majority of Kursk universities are also located in the Central District, the largest of which are:

  • Kursk State University ;
  • Kursk State Medical University ;
  • Southwest State University ;
  • Kursk State Agricultural Academy. Professor I. I. Ivanov .

A number of the oldest historical and cultural monuments of federal and regional significance are located on the territory of the okrug:

  • Sergiev Kazan Cathedral (second half of the XVIII century);
