Career
In 1990, Takemura founded Audio Sports together with Tetsuro Yamatsuka ( Boredoms ) and Aki Onda . Their first album, Era of Glittering Gas, was released in 1992 (after which Onda seized control of the project), in the same year as Takemura’s first solo album, under the pseudonym DJ Takemura. He also released material from Spiritual Vibes (since 1993) and as Child's View (from 1994). Currently paired with vocalist / composer Childisc Tsuyuko Aki under the pseudonym Assembler.
Nobukatsu founded the labels Lollop and Childisc; his voluminous releases, remixes and joint projects make it difficult to compose a complex discography , and his music often defies simple categories. In the US, gained fame after the release of Scope under the label The Thrill Jockey in 1999, the album which contains the delicate melodies that bloom in the ocean of white noise. His unique and integrated approach to melodies and instrumentation has spawned many collaborative recordings with recognized critics by artists and composers such as Issei Miyake , Zu , Stephen Reich , DJ Spooky , Yo La Tengo and Tortoise . Takemura is also responsible for the sound design of Sony's robot dog AIBO . [one]
