Sankarea

In the past, a certain Dzegoro Furuya developed a special potion that allows you to resurrect the dead. To study the resulting zombies, ZOMA was created. As it turned out, the potion is imperfect - to preserve the mind, zombies must regularly take the poison that lies at the base of the potion. But even in this case, the decomposition of their body will not stop, and, after two weeks, they will cease to distinguish between hunger and affection.

The plot tells of the grandson of Jogoro, Chihiro Furue. He is interested in everything related to zombies, and dreams of having a zombie girlfriend. One day he finds his grandfather's notes describing a recipe for a resurrecting potion. Chihiro decides to test the knowledge from this book with his recently deceased cat. While working on the potion, he meets the main character, Ray Sanka, who, due to problems in the family, dreams of starting a new life. When the potion is complete, Rea tries to poison him. Although the potion does not kill her, Rea soon falls off a cliff and crashes to death. After that, thanks to the potion drunk, she is resurrected like a zombie and settles in Chihiro's house.

Main Characters

Chihiro Furuya ( 降 谷 千 紘 Furuya Chihiro ) is the main character. She loves everything related to zombies, and together with Ray prepared a potion that resurrects the dead. Despite the fact that he claims that he is not interested in living girls, he fell in love with Ray even when she was alive.

Seiyu: Ryohei Kimura

Rea Sanka ( 散 華 礼 弥 Sanka Rea ) is the main character. The daughter of a wealthy family. She was tired of the constant custody of her father, as well as the fact that every year he photographs her naked. Therefore, she dreamed of starting a completely new life as an ordinary girl. Escaping from her parents, she headed to the mountains. Father overtook her there, there was a fight, Rea stumbled, fell into the abyss, torn her stomach on the branches in the fall and died. The potion revived her. Upon discovering that she became a zombie, Rea completely broke off ties with her family on the grounds that she was no longer either her father’s daughter or a human being. Since the resurrected potion was made on the basis of hydrangea, Rea must regularly eat its leaves. Otherwise, she will lose her mind and begin to eat her beloved people. However, unlike other zombies, she is able to keep her mind even two weeks after death. As the examination showed, the reason for this is that the potion acted until the body died completely and part of Ray's brain remained alive. All her injuries sustained before or after death do not heal. Because of this, she is forced to live with her stomach open. Mutually jealous of Chihiro for Ranko.

Seiyu: Maaya Utida

Ranko Saoji ( 左 王子 蘭 子 Sao: ji Ranko ) is cousin of Chihiro and his close friend. As a child, they constantly watched movies about zombies together (now she lends them). At one of the views, Chihiro admitted that he would like to have zombies as a girlfriend, then she realized that he was seriously interested in zombies. In love with Chihiro, as a result of which she was jealous of Ray. Although he admitted that she can not be a serious competition with Ray, she is still worried that the zombie girl can not restrain herself and will kill her cousin from thirst.

Furuya Family

Mero Furuya ( 降 谷 萌 路 Furuya Mero ) is a typical kudere , the younger sister of Chihiro, who, in contrast, enjoys ghosts and not zombies (it is noteworthy that her brother is just afraid of them). She doesn’t remember her own mother, who died when Mero was still small. In preserved memories, Mara Mero’s behavior resembles Ray’s behavior caused by her zombie nature. Therefore, for Mero Rea resembles her deceased mother. Because of her character, she rarely shows at least some kind of emotion, but she is well versed in the character of others. Rea once suggested that she and Mero are rivals.

Jogoro Furuya ( 降 谷 茹 五郎 Furuya Jogoro :): - Chihiro's grandfather. Creator of a resurrection potion recipe. He knows a lot about zombies, but rarely talks about anything valuable, suffers from dementia due to old age and poisons that he took when researching zombies.

Doon Furuya ( 降 谷 呶 恩 Furuya Doon ) is the father of Chihiro and Mero. Monk in a Buddhist temple Shirouji.

Yuzuna Furuya ( 降 谷 柚 菜 Furuya Yuzuna ) is the late mother of Mero and Chihiro.

Other Characters

Aria Sanka ( 散 華 亜 里 亜 Sanka Aria ) - Rei's stepmother, principal of the Sanka school (in which Rea studies). Before the death of her real mother, Rei worked as a maid in the house of Sanka and was a contender for the heart of Danichiro. Like all other servants of the Sanka clan, she is from a respected family, and she has a higher education.

Seiyu: Mayumi Asano

Danichiro Sanka ( Jap. 散 華 団 一郎 Sanka Danichiro:) - Rei’s father, he loves and cares for his daughter very much, which makes it more like a mania. Constantly monitors her whole life, as well as photographs her and watches her when she leaves the house. On every Ray's birthday, he photographs her naked, motivating it by following her growth. Ray really does not like this, so she wants to live freely. Aria Sanka explains this to Chihiro by the fact that Danichiro is attached to his first wife, who died during childbirth, and Ray is very similar to her.
