Geographical position
To the west of the village, the Northern Railways and the federal highway M8 "Kholmogory" are laid. To the south of the settlement is the boundary of the city district "City of Arkhangelsk" . In the east, Melekhovo is adjacent to another village of the Liestrovsky rural settlement - Nesterov .
History
In 1961, by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, the village of Staroye Lukino was renamed Melekhovo [3] in memory of the captain of the USSR Arctic fleet Athanasius Melekhov .
