Paracryphia ( Paracryphiaceae ) - a family of dicotyledonous plants, the only family of the order Paracryphiales .

Botanical description

Paracryphal - lignified shrubs or trees .

Area

Natural range - Australia , Southeast Asia , New Caledonia . In the APG II flowering plant classification system, the family consists of two genera: the monotypic genus Paracryphia , which is endemic to New Caledonia , and Quintinia , represented by 25 species common in the Philippines , New Guinea , the east coast of Australia , New Zealand, and New Zealand Caledonia .

Systematic position

The family is placed in the asterid treasure, where paracryphalaceae are allocated in an independent order (according to the APG III system ). Earlier studies were very likely to establish a kinship between the genera sphenostemon ( Sphenostemon ) and paracryphia ( Paracryphia ), therefore, Angiosperm Phylogeny Website recommends including this genus in the paracryphal family.

According to the database of The Plant List (as of July 2016), the family includes 3 genera and 29 species ^[2] :
