The village is located on the P104 highway in the Uglich - Rybinsk section , between the village of Karkodinovo (towards Uglich) and the village of Nikolo-Korma (towards Rybinsk) at the intersection of the road and the Korma River. Tyapkino is located on the left bank, and on the right is the village of Nikolo-Korma . The resident population as of January 1, 2007 is 2 people [2] .
The village of Tyapkina is indicated on the plan of the General Land Survey of the Rybinsk district of 1792.
A bus connects the village with Rybinsk, Myshkin and Uglich. The administration of the rural settlement in the village and the center of the general practitioner is located in the village of Iskra Oktyabrya (on the road towards Rybinsk). In the village of Nikolsky (following the road for Nikolo-Korma) - the center of the village administration, post office [3] , school, club, shops.
